The best thing of my program was arriving at the day care center in the morning and having the children run up to you to give you a hug.
I was surprise how different American and Chilean life are. It was almost overwhelming for such a drastic lifestyle change. Adjusting to complete culture shock. It was hard leaving the things that made me comfortable. I missed American food and my daily routine.
Many people live without the things we take for granted (hot water and transportation) it also very hard to increase one“s quality of life when salaries are so low. All money is used for survival of the family. This experience caused me to grow a tremendous amount of personality.
